The Lightning Seeds front man, Ian Broudie, has taken something of a back seat over recent years, producing chart topping bands likes of The Coral, The Zutons and The Subways. The Lightning Seeds return with UK tour dates for April 2010.
Tickets on sale from Monday 4th January 2010.
The Lightning Seeds pop classics include the hit’s ‘Pure’, ‘The Life of Riley’, ‘Sense’, ‘Lucky You’, ‘Change’, ‘Marvellous’, ‘Perfect’, ‘Sugar Coated Iceberg’ , ‘You Showed Me’ to name but a few and not forgetting the England World Cup anthem ‘Three Lions.’
As if he's never been away, Ian Broudie returned last year with a new Lightning Seeds album, the first for ten years. Wrapped in melody and full of the kind of timeless emotional depth we've come to expect from him, 'Four Winds' is both uplifting and thought provoking. It's a beautiful album that strikes a warm fuzzy familiar chord while managing to reach a new musical maturity.
"It's not like I've ever been away, really," Ian says. "I've been a part of music all my life and that never stops. These are just songs that represent where I am on this journey."
Highlights are many and include the melancholic '4 Wind', the ethereal sway of 'Ghosts', the pop swagger of 'The Story Goes' and the autobiographical 'I Still Feel The Same'.
"What I want to do is take everything that has made me who I am, imbibing the sixties, seventies, punk bands, Britpop, hip hop, this quite unique musical journey that sometimes feels like it's been back to front, being a producer then a pop star," Ian says. "I feel like whatever it is that I am supposed to be doing, I haven't done yet. I feel like I am just getting started."
